Dr. Henley is board-certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) and is a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society. He has pioneered the development of several medical devices including artificial larynx and ultrasonic liposuction device. He is known internationally for his medical technology developments. Dr. Henley is also the developer of the Orbital Lift and the Wattle Neck
Lift procedures.
He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine since 1985.
Dr. Henley graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics and conducted chemical physics and biomedical engineering research at the Weitzmann Institute and Oregon Research Institute before attending medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Henley's post-graduate medical training began with an internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and a Fellowship at MIT/Joslin Clinic Research Lab where he worked on the development of an articial pancreas. He then completed special training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
Dr. Henley's work has been featured on local and national television, radio and print media. He has presented his developments in aesthetic plastic surgery procedures at national Academy meetings and is actively involved in the training of medical residents as part of his active teaching commitment at the Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Henley's current hospital appointments include the Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale-New Haven Hospital (both 1980-present).
Research & Development
In addition to a busy clinical practice Dr. Henley has been actively involved in research and development of new medical technologies. His dedication to improving technology and patient care merits a unique recognition of his skill and commitment to the practice of Cosmetic Surgery. His premedical degrees from Harvard in Applied Mathematics and Physics fuel this continued effort to improve lives with good science and excellence in medicine.
